In August we will be showcasing three of our own amazing members!
We lead off with Karen Caldwell presenting "Money Mastery – An Introduction to Money Archetypes."
Money mastery is a journey that starts with self discovery – an awareness and understanding of our money beliefs and behaviors. How we think about money and how we think of ourselves in relation to money colors and impacts every aspect of our lives. We have been programmed since birth! We will have a brief interactive discussion of some of the common money messages and myths that people believe.
Participants will be invited to take a short Money Type Quiz and score themselves. We will then review and discuss the primary characteristics of each of the eight Money Archetypes and what the results indicate. Participants will come away with a deeper understanding of their hard-wired money programming, as well as the Money Archetypes that may be active in their life now. With this increased awareness, participants have an opportunity to begin shifting those beliefs and behaviors that are no longer serving them.
Karen is a Certified Money Coach and has more than 35 years experience in the financial services industry.
We then move to Monique Martineau who will be leading us through "Life in the Zen Lane."
A Zen perspective on how to relieve current stress and decrease future stress: physically, mentally and emotionally…useful for coaches and to share with their clients. Many people know concepts such as “What you resist, persists.” Far fewer know the extent to which it affects daily life and how to actually embody or experience non-resistance. After nearly a decade of study with a Zen master, there’s been an increasing and ongoing personal experience of how to live in the Zen lane. All the while, I’ve been downloading the pearls of wisdom to grateful coaching clients and audiences.
Participants will walk away with a deeper understanding of their own contributions to stress, as well as “Principles and Practices” for expanded well-being. Participants will identify what to do when they can’t change external stressors, explore blind spots in anxiety, anger and avoidance, learn principals such as “Argue with reality and you’ll lose every time”, and experience the still small voice of wisdom.
Monique’s experience includes eight years in healthcare, 15 years in business development, over 20 years in personal / professional development, and nine years as a stress management / wellness coach. Her expertise in stress comes from working for bestselling author, Deepak Chopra, MD. Add to that a decade of study with Zen teacher, Adyashanti, whose teachings mirror those of bestselling authors Eckhart Tolle and Byron Katie, whom she has also studied for many years.
And finally, we wrap up the evening with Jo Anne Coates who will bring us a "Deepening Insights & Relationships World Café."
As a dialogue and conversational process, the World Café is a simple methodology that can evoke and make visible the collective intelligence and experience of any group, increasing people’s capacity for connection and effective action in pursuit of common aims. In this Café we will explore the question, “How have I most deeply enriched my personal and professional growth through connection with the NBC community, in particular, and the broader coaching community, in general?" Our objective is to inspire personal and collective insight and deepen relationship among participants.
The Cafe is 45 minutes in length. The session begins with a 5-minute introduction to the Café's process and etiquette. Participants will gather in seated circles of four. Each circle will be hosted by a NBC board member. Participants engage in two 15-minute rounds of dialogue on the Café question. Following the first round of dialogue participants move to a new circle, meet new people, actively contribute their thinking, listen deeply, ask powerful questions, link and connect ideas, share the essence of discoveries from the previous circle, expand the group’s dialogue around the question, and enhance the possibility of surprising new insights. At the end of the second round of dialogue, a 10 minute period of sharing discoveries and insights in a whole group conversation will conclude the Cafe.
